We decided that Tuesday, the day of the first transit strike in 25 years, would be the perfect day to venture into New York City. After working our way through the billions of people walking the streets of NYC we soon discovered that our hotel was indeed right around the corner from Times Square. We were not affected too badly by the lack of transit options because of our sweet hotel location. We visited St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockerfeller Center, and of course 2 very important places..... Macy's and Saks 5th Ave. On Wednesday we took a $45 cab (now we are affected by the strike) up to Canal Street on a mission to buy designer knock-off purses. After following a very shady Asian to a very shady place, we walked away with some sweet Prada bags. It was fabulous! On the way back to Times Square we rode with the world's happiest cab driver. After a chorus line or two from "Leaving on a Jet Plane" (yes, the 3 of us and the cabbie were all singing) we were invited to visit him in Egypt anytime we wish.

This is me imitating the trumpet guy at Rockerfeller Center =]
